Toussarok - Charlie Johnston
Toussarok
Mark Johnston
4 Year Old Bay Gelding
Toussarok is a nicely-bred son of Iffraaj who followed a winning debut over 6f at Newcastle in June with a respectable second to Darvel under a penalty at Ayr the following month. He’s better than his ninth place finish at York on nursery debut last time suggests, fading having attempted to make all. His pedigree (from the family of Frizzante, Firenze, Zidane etc.) suggests there should be more to come beyond his juvenile season.
Returning to an artificial surface the last twice and with a step up to 7f Toussarok has shown a return to form finishing 2nd both times. He is now off a mark of 79.
Toussarok has continued to show how consistent he is, running to his mark each time and just failing victim to bumping into one. He has been gelded since his last run and will have a little break prior to the turf starting.
Needing his first run back at Doncaster he was then slightly disappointing at Thirsk.
Back on track with two good seconds at Kempton and Hamilton he again disappointed at Ayr where he was unable to get a lead early.
Returning to winning ways at Catterick on a course which suited and played to his strengths with a much deserved victory.
He then finished a good second at Kempton only beaten half a length.
His third run in the month of august resulted in another win over 6f at Chelmsford.
A thoroughly tough and consistent club horse we couldn’t ask for better.
Has returned from a break in his usual consistent fashion, only being beaten a couple of lengths each time. Currently rated 81 he will mix it up on the AW & turf.
Having needed the run last time coming back from a break after his Southwell accident. Toussarok duly made all at Brighton to add another win to his name (27/5/22) that’s his fourth in our colours and given all he’s been through of late it was fantastic to see him enjoy himself out in front and get another much deserved win.
Toussarok went on to run at Chester and being posted wide you knew your fate early. Back on track next time at Brighton finishing an excellent second giving away plenty of weight prior to backing that up with a cracking 4th at Musselburgh up in grade.
Headed to Epsom (7/7/22) Toussarok duly won again enjoying the quirky nature of the course.
